May the 4th: New Disney+ Content

It’s Star Wars Day in our quarantined paradise, let’s see what came to Disney+ today for our binging pleasure.

May 4th is known as Star Wars Day to all the force loving fans in the world. This year as we are mostly still painfully stuck in our homes, the streaming monopoly Disney+ has gifted us a few nice new pieces to brush the boredom away.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Unknown-2

The final piece of the sequel trilogy is now available for streaming along with every other movie in the series. I was extremely underwhelmed with The Last Jedi and found The Force Awakens to be *okay*. I didn’t bother seeing this movie in theater but will gladly watch it once I finish a painful run through these two again. For anyone that either shares my opinion or doesn’t the film is there for your viewing pleasure!

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian

I wholeheartedly believe that The Mandalorian is the best new Star Wars media since the original trilogy. So if you’re into behind-the-scenes stuff and appreciate the magnificent series as much as I do, the docu-series is in eight episodes and is now available for streaming. Season 2 is supposed to be available to us come October of this year as long as everything stays on schedule.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars

I have loved this show for many years, but it was definitely time for an ending. The show ran from 2008-2012, then had a special 6th season on Netflix to fill the void between the show and Revenge of the Sith. Now the so called Final Season has bridged the gap between the show, the movies, and even Star Wars: Rebels. This last season came to a point where time overlapped Revenge of the Sith and the final episode gave a glimpse at Maul, Darth Vader, Ahsoka Tano, and Commander Rex finding their post-Clone Wars roles. The internet is currently riddled with people asking for a season 8 or if there will be a season 8 and I really, really, really hope not. The Clone Wars are over for the last season and 8 seasons covering the 3 year span between the second and third movies, I don’t really think that there can be anything left to cover. There is a rumor for a new Rebels season, but I appreciated the cliffhanger ending to that show. Part of what made the original trilogy special and has made everything else lack that feeling is the mystery. Explaining every aspect of the story and then beating it into the ground really takes away from that mystery. That is why The Mandalorian is so damn good, it’s just a story, no intro, no over-explaining, just a cool dude doing cool stuff and us watching. If they wanna give us 5 seasons of a tv show then by all means go before the prequels. The Old Republic timeline is sitting ripe for their savage output and desire to make money.

Thanks for reading my Star Wars rant, I hope you appreciate the new stuff available.
Happy Star Wars Day!
